The political landscape adds another dimension: with Democrats positioned to hold greater influence in Congress, spending priorities and regulatory conditions could further encourage large-scale infrastructure investment, sustaining or even amplifying borrowing activity in the sector.
For fixed-income investors, the challenge is calibrating exposure to a category of debt that carries long-duration risk and is tied to technology spending cycles that remain difficult to forecast. The concentration of AI-linked issuance in certain corners of credit markets has also raised questions about portfolio diversification and systemic risk as the buildout continues.
